MELKITE ORGANIZATIONS

National Association of Melkite Women

The National Association of Melkite Women was founded in 1986 by Archbishop Joseph Tawil, of blessed memory. Our purpose is to promote and support vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the United States.

Order of Saint Nicholas

The Order of St. Nicholas was created in 1991 by the late Bishop Ignatius Ghattas. In 1980, his predecessor, Archbishop Joseph Tawil, established its now dissolved forerunner organization, the St. Nicholas Guild. In 1997, under the leadership of Bishop John A. Elya, the Order of St. Nicholas re-established itself officially as an unincorporated auxiliary of the Diocese of Newton

National Association of Melkite Youth

The National Association of Melkite Youth (NAMY) provides faith formation opportunities for all youth, 13-18 years of age, within the Eparchy of Newton. NAMY directors, advisors and youth leaders initiate, coordinate and implement spiritual, educational and social activities and events that promote the involvement of youth.
