Ways to Discern a Vocation
- Pray and Listen, asking the Lord daily to show you His will.
- Learn and Pray the Jesus Prayer, placing yourself in His Time.
- Ask the Theotokos, mother of the High Priest, for her intercession.
- Attend Vespers, Orthros and the Divine Liturgy and receive the Holy Eucharist on a regular schedule.
- Find a spiritual father whom you find approachable and ask for spiritual guidance.
- Go to Confession on a consistent basis.
- Read the Holy Scriptures and meditate on God’s Word.
- Research the lives of the Saints of the Eastern Church.
- Contact the Melkite Vocation Director.
- Speak with Deacons & Deacon Candidates.
- Become involved in your Melkite Parish.
- Be open to whatever path the Lord wants you to follow. Being close to your pastor also will help guide you.

If the Lord God is calling you, be confident that
He will never send you where His grace cannot sustain you!

Formas de discernir una vocación al sacerdocio, diaconado o la vida religiosa
- Ora y Escucha, pidiéndole al Señor todos los días para que te muestre su voluntad.
- Aprende y Ora la Oración de Jesús, colocándote en su divino tiempo.
- Ruégale a la Teotokos, Madre del Sumo Sacerdote, por su intercesión.
- Asiste a los servicios de las Vísperas, Ortros (Maitines), la Divina Liturgia y recibe la Santa Eucaristía con frecuencia regular.
- Busca a un padre espiritual a quien encuentres accesible y pídele guianza espiritual.
- Ir a la confesión con una frecuencia consistente.
- Leé las Sagradas Escrituras y medita la Palabra de Dios.
- Investiga las vidas de los santos de la Iglesia Oriental.
- Comunícate con el Director de Vocaciones Melquita.
- Hable con los diáconos y candidatos al Diaconado.
- Participe en su parroquia Melquita.
- Manténganse abierto a cualquier camino que el Señor quiere que usted siga. El estar cerca de su pastor también le servirá como un guía de dirección espiritual.
Si el Señor Dios le está llamando, este seguro de que
Él nunca le enviará en donde su gracia no podría sostenerlo a usted!

- صلّ وأصغ الى الرب سائلا إياه أن يريك إرادته.
- تعلّم وصلّ صلاة يسوع واضعا نفسك في زمنه.
- أطلب شفاعة والدة الإله.
- شارك في صلاتي الغروب والسحر وتقدم من المناولة المقدسة في الليتورجية الإلهية بشكل منتظم.
- إختر مرشدا روحيا ترتاح له ليقدم لك المساعدة الروحية.
- تقدم من سرّ الإعترافبشكل منتظم.
- إقرا الكتب المقدسة متأملا بكلمة الرب.
- طالع حياة وكتابات الآباء القديسين في الكنيسة الشرقية.
- إتصل بمدير مكتب الدعوات في الأبرشية.
- تحدّث مع شمامسة وطلاب لاهوت يتابعون دراستهم.
- كن ملتزما في رعيتك الملكية الكاثوليكية.
- كن منفتحا لإرادة الرب في حياتك حيثما يقودك.
كن قريبا من كاهن رعيتك واطلب مساعدته.
إن كان الرب يدعوك، لا تخف! بل ثق بأن نعمته تكفيك لتلبية دعوته.
