To be a Christian in the Third Millennium: The Creed for Today’s Man and Woman
OUT OF STOCK We read in the First Letter of Saint Peter: “In your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you” (3:15). The challenges that Christianity faces today call us to go back to the roots of our faith, to give an ‘answer’ first to the questions we pose to ourselves, and second to the questions that others pose to us. This book, To Be a Christian in the Third Millennium, aims at giving such an answer. The Christian faith is summarized in the Creed which we proclaim at every Liturgy, and which goes back to the fourth century. We thought that it would be meaningful to present our answer in the framework of this Creed. Our method is not apologetic: we do not need to defend our faith against anyone, nor do we need to prove the falseness of any other religion. We present our faith with objectivity and serenity, saying with Saint Paul: “I know the one in whom I put my trust” (2 Timothy 1:12).
