To report sexual abuse by clergy, parish personnel or volunteers of the Eparchy of Newton, please contact the Victim Assistance Coordinator at vac@melkite.org or 1-800-447-8439.
If you need to report sexual misconduct involving bishops of the United States, or intentional interference in a sexual abuse investigation, you can do so through the Catholic Bishop Abuse Reporting Service. As eparchial bishop of the Diocese of Newton for the Melkite Catholic Church in the United States of America, I promulgate the “Eparchy of Newton Policy Addressing Allegations of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Priests or Deacons (Revised 2024)” and the “Guide for Pastoral Conduct With Minors (Revised 2024).” The Safe Environment Review Board has reviewed and recommended these documents for promulgation.
Additionally, I promulgate the Circle of Grace curriculum for grades K-12, which I deem to be in accord with Catholic moral principles, and I direct that it be used yearly in religious education programs throughout the Diocese of Newton. Circle of Grace contributes to protecting children and youth and affirms them as beloved children of God. The Safe Environment Review Board has reviewed and recommended the Circle of Grace curriculum for promulgation.
